Who Is The Antichrist--Revealed

The Hebrew prophets accurately predicted the last day events. But their most chilling prophecies concern the Antichrist. But before I reveal who I think the Antichrist is, let's set the scene a bit with a little background information.

War In Heaven

Right from the beginning, our world has been in the middle of a battle between good and evil. The archangel known as Lucifer, served God with Michael and Gabriel. But then he rebelled and... "There was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon... And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him." --Revelation 12:7-9 NASB

Satan is "the god of this world." He deceives and corrupts. And as the end approaches... "Terror will come on the earth and the sea, for the devil has come down to you in great anger, knowing that he has little time." --Revelation 12:12b NLT

It is important to understand that what's coming in the future for the world is fundamentally based upon the war between God and Satan. We just happen to be the battleground where that war is being fought. Satan wants to deceive and corrupt as many people on earth as he can so that he can flaunt all of this in God's face. And part of Satan's plan is to bring his kingdom and bring his hand picked beast to take control of the world.

The Fierce Beast

In Daniel 7, the prophet received a vision of several beasts. The last one worried him: "There before me was a fourth beast--terrifying and frightening and very powerful. It had large iron teeth; it crushed and devoured its victims and trampled underfoot whatever was left." Daniel 7:7NIV

Now an angel interpreted this vision for Daniel. He said: "'The fourth beast is a fourth kingdom that will appear on earth. It will be different from all the other kingdoms and will devour the whole earth, trampling it down and crushing it. The ten horns are ten kings who will come from this kingdom.'" Daniel 7:23-24a NIV

We know that Daniel's prophecies are very accurate because so many of them have come to pass. He accurately predicted several future empires: Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome. But the angel revealed that this final empire was different from the others. I believe that is because it was both an empire and also a religious system. Let's take a deeper look at how this fierce beast handed itself over the next 1800 years.

In AD 313, Roman Emperor Constantine declared himself the head of a hierarchical state-church. By doing that he was recognized a Christianized version of a truly pagan religion (that goes back to Babylon). This hybrid religious organism would become known as the Roman Catholic Church. This was to become the fierce beast which was to be different than Daniel's other kingdoms. And this kingdom was to rise out of the Roman Empire and be the beginning of the fulfillment of Daniel's prophecy.

Right from the beginning, the Roman church waged war against all true Christians. To this church/state, only two groups exist: Catholics and everyone else. Anyone not embracing the Roman church was considered a heretic worthy of destruction. It was this belief that was at the core of its . actions and which spawned what we now think of as the Dark Ages...

End Times Prophecy Overview

Understand That Prophecy is "Like a Lamp
Shining in a Dark Place." (2 Peter 1:19 NLT)

Prophecy is God's Way of Lighting the Darkness

God has given us a timeless window to expose the future darkness which awaits mankind by having his prophets write extremely detailed predictions about what is going to happen to our planet. Keep in mind that 25 percent of the Bible is prophecy, so it is unlike any other book, ancient or modern in that regard. There is no other religion (except Judaism) that offers so much up-to-date information about the future of the world. It really contains history pre-written.

This article will show you why Bible prophecy is a unique source of information and it also gives several rules of interpretation that Christian scholars apply to confirm that a prediction is valid. If you know the rules of scriptural interpretation you will be much less likely to make mistakes when you read, interpret and follow biblical prophecies. This is very important so that you don't go off with some half-baked interpretation.

In Second Peter chapter one we have a passage which explains some of how prophecy works:

"We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit." (2 Peter 1:19-21 NIV). Now let's break down six things that passages states:

1. Prophecy messages are completely reliable. Over the centuries many have claimed that they could foretell the future. But when you're wondering and worrying about the future, it's important to pay attention to a proven source that is accurate. There are no cases of false prophecies found in the Bible that are attributed to God. This is totally NOT the case with the predictions made from anyone other than biblical prophets. God's prophets were 100 percent accurate or they were to be put to death. So false prophets didn't last long.

But most gullible people would rather check out the local market tabloids with their attention grabbing headlines about what will happen next. The so-called seers and the bogus prophets who loudly proclaim their crazy predictions are never around when none of them comes true. For years I clipped the predictions offered in the National Enquirer and proved to myself that about one percent of those predictions actually came true. You could do better if you just guessed!

2. You are smart to pay attention to what Bible prophecy says. You are wise if you pay attention to what the Bible predicts, because it is your future and the future of your world. If you know what's coming you will be so much more likely to survive and spend eternity together with Christ and other Christian believers.

3. Bible prophecy will be a light shining in a dark place until the Lord returns. When you can't see, it's really nice to have a light. And that's exactly what God's Word does for us all. It illuminates our pathway and shows us the proper way to go.

4. Understand that no prophecy found in the Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation of things. So these prophets weren't just guessing like so many of the modern day seers do. People today make a living at dispensing false information. It is nice to understand that God is the one behind all of these predictions because he has a purpose in everything that he writes to us.

5. Biblical prophecy never had its origin in the human will. These men didn't say what they wanted to say. They spoke what God told them to say. That's important because we all have our human motives, but God's motives are pure (where ours almost never are).

6. Even though prophets were human, they spoke what God told them to speak through the power of the Holy Spirit. It is so important to grasp that these prophecies were meant to give us a future messages that the prophet couldn't have possibly have known the meaning of when the Holy Spirit moved him to speak and write. That's why it is so important for us to listen up...

Jesus from Nazareth: Champion of the Oppressed?

Jesus from Nazareth had a clear message
to all of those who are oppressed.

Today many give lip service to freeing the oppressed, but our world is absolutely full of subjugated peoples. And with every passing day, the freedom of more people seems to be oppressively tore away. What did Jesus say about social injustice? Did he champion the oppressed in his teaching and by his actions?

Jesus and Other Races

Every nation and generation has its own racial prejudices. The Jews of Christ's era looked down upon a racial-religious group called the Samaritans. Long before the time of Jesus, the Assyrians transported into Samaria (the region north of Jerusalem), conquered peoples from other lands. These foreigners intermarried with Jews of the area and developed a religion based on part of the Old Testament. The orthodox Hebrews had an intense hatred for these racial and religious "half-breeds" and even considered their food unclean. (Merrill C. Tenney, The Zondervan Pictorial Bible Dictionary, (Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan, 1969, pp. 746-747).

Although the province of Samaria sat directly between Jerusalem and Galilee, most Jews would avoid the area in their travels. In an encounter that is recorded in John 4, Jesus and his disciples were on their way north to Galilee, but instead of avoiding Samaria, they walked directly through the region. At noon, Jesus stopped to rest at a well while the disciples went into the local city to buy food.

A woman came to draw water from the well, and Jesus said to her, "Give me a drink."

Surprised that a Jew would talk to her, unless his motives were questionable, she asked, "How is it you, being a Jew, ask me for a drink, since I'm a Samaritan?"

"If you only knew what a wonderful gift God has for you, and who I am, you would ask me for some living water!" He ignored her racial question and offered her salvation.

After talking for several minutes, the woman said, "I know the Messiah is coming and when he does, he will explain everything to us."

"I am the Messiah!" He told her. Realizing whom she was talking to, the woman left her water pot, ran back to the city, and announced to everyone that the Messiah had come. The Samaritans then rushed out and begged him to stay in their city. And he agreed. (John 4:1-42).

Not only was Jesus willing to associate with Samaritans, he offered them eternal life and revealed his identity as the Messiah, which is something he would not do later for the self-righteous Pharisees. His friendship toward these social outcasts certainly did not add any stature to his reputation in the orthodox religious community.

Later, in Capernaum, some elders of the Jews came to Jesus and asked him to heal the slave boy of a Roman centurion.

"He deserves to have this done for him" they said. "He loves our nation and built us our synagogue."

"I will go and heal his servant," said the Lord. But while the Master, the disciples, and the elders were on their way, the centurion's servants met them on the road...

Prediction Fulfilled: Israel Would Become A Nation Again

These Easily Verifiable Prophecies Have All
Happened—Which Means the End Is Near

Israel a Nation Again! What are the chances that a nation that had ceased to exist as a country to suddenly reappear back on the scene and be resurrected after more than 2000 years? That's not likely. Nothing like that has never before happened. This is why the fulfillment of all these prophecies is so incredibly amazing. And the predictions were all made over 2,000 years ago! Let's take a look at this phenomenon because if it's true, it means that the end of our age is VERY CLOSE.

Jerusalem & the Temple to Be Destroyed

When Jesus approached Jerusalem for the last time, he uttered a prophecy that made him weep:

"But as he came closer to Jerusalem and saw the city ahead, he began to weep. 'How I wish today that you of all people would understand the way to peace. But now it is too late, and peace is hidden from your eyes. Before long your enemies will build ramparts against your walls and encircle you and close in on you from every side. They will crush you into the ground, and your children with you. Your enemies will not leave a single stone in place, because you did not recognize it when God visited you.'" (Luke 19:41-44 NLT).

So the Lord indicates that the reason for this judgment that will be coming from the hands of the Romans is that the nation of Israel did not respond recognize that he was really their God and Messiah. Later in the week, when the Jesus was teaching the disciples about the end times, he offered more details about what was going to happen to their nation:

“And when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then you will know that the time of its destruction has arrived... For there will be disaster in the land and great anger against this people. They will be killed by the sword or sent away as captives to all the nations of the world. And Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles until the period of the Gentiles comes to an end." (Luke 21:19,23-24 NLT).

Destruction of the Temple. Notice that he says they will be killed by the sword or sent captive to all of the nations of the world until the period of Gentile domination over their land had ended. Everything Jesus predicted happened just as he said it would. Those predictions were literally fulfilled in A.D. 66-70 when the Romans sacked Jerusalem and destroyed the Jewish temple, sending most of the Jews into exile. The Romans commemorated the destruction of the temple on their Arch of Titus where the image of a golden candlestick was clearly etched in stone (see the photo).

Predictions About Israel's Future & Return

Even before Jesus' time, the Hebrew prophets had predicted the Jewish diaspora. For about 2,000 years the Jews would be exiled from the promised land which God had given to them. After the proper time had elapsed, they would be literally compelled to return to their ancient land. The remaking of Israel as a nation is one of the most incredible supernatural displays of God's power in our era. Nothing like this has ever happened before, that a nation would be resurrected after being out of existence for so long. This is a modern prophetic miracle (still in the making).

Jesus the Liberator: Is Jesus Unique to History?

How does Jesus from Nazareth compare to
The founder's of all the other great religions?

Over the centuries several men have founded great world religions. We must know how these men compare with Jesus from Nazareth. Did they make claims similar to his? Did their lives possess the same power that he possessed? We can only be certain Jesus is unique to history by comparing him with the founders of the other great religions.

Moses
1527—1407 B.C.
Judaism

Moses was born in Egypt of Hebrew parents. Hidden because all males were to be slain, he was found by the daughter of Pharaoh and brought up in the Pharaoh's house. When he had matured, he saw an Egyptian mistreating a Hebrew slave and killed the Egyptian. For this he was forced to flee from Egypt and spent the next forty years in the wilderness.

At the age of eighty, Moses was called my God to deliver the nation of Israel out of Egypt. He was later given the tables of the law on Mount Sinai, which was the beginning of modern Judaism. Moses was denied the privilege of entering the promised land because of disobedience to God's will. He died in the land of Moab and was laid in an unmarked grave. (Exodus 1—40; Deuteronomy 34).

Moses made no claims to deity and is not now considered to be a god by the Jews. No resurrection is claimed for him, nor did he ever see himself as anything but God's servant.

Zoroaster
660-583 B.C.
Zoroastrianism

Zoroaster was a Persian who left his father, mother, and wife and began a search for religious enlightenment. After ten years he received a revelation and saw Ahura Mazda (the supreme being), and felt called to be a prophet. In the next ten years his only convert was a cousin. (Robert Earnest Hume, The World's Living Religions (New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 159, pp. 201-206).

Zoroaster showed bitter animosity for his enemies. "Upon a certain opponent, Bendva, I pray for ruin or death." And, "others I look on with hatred of spirit." (Ibid, p. 207).

After two more years of effort, Zoroaster converted to his religion a prince who put all of his power behind the faith. Several religious wars followed, and at the age of 77, Zoroaster's enemies surprised and killed him before the fire alter.

Although later Zoroastrian scriptures make vast claims concerning a supernatural birth and other fantastic events for the founder's life, the Avesta, written by Zoroaster himself, contains no claims for his personal deity or for a personal bodily resurrection.

Zoroaster spent a good deal of his life in discouragement, and at one point he questioned whether he would be able to earn future immortality. "Tell me truly, Ahura, whether I shall indeed, O Right, earn the reward, even ten mares with a stallion and a camel, which was promised to me, O Mazda, as well as through thee the future gift of welfare and immortality." (Ibid. p. 204).

Laozi (or Lao-tzu)
604 B.C-?
Taoism

Laozi (or Lao-tzu) is a scholar of whom so little is known some authorities are even skeptical of his existence. Born in China, he is reported to have held a government post in the capitol city. After questioning the existence of any form of government, he resigned and withdrew from the civilized world.

Is The Church Embarrassed About Its Beliefs?

God Is Calling the Church to Be Unembarrassed and Uncowed By the Threats Made Against It

An Unpowerful and Embarrassed Church
I'm afraid right now that the Church over all is either too busy or too embarrassed to stand up for what it believes. So much opposition is coming against the Church in America today—and we are just not used to that here. So we've actually become very timid with expressing our message. We've shut our mouths in order to keep from upsetting all of the groups or governmental powers that hate our message. And there are many who do.

Something is desperately wrong with us. I think many of us find ourselves in this place of spiritual softness. We've simply vanished from view off the face of this earth. We're too afraid that we'll be hammered if we stand up and say what we believe. This is especially obvious when it comes to all of the new preachers of unrighteousness that are now openly attacking America: the gay marriage proponents, the anti-family preachers, the unborn baby killers, the race baiters, the liberal mockers, and so many who feel comfortable attacking our freedom to speak openly, and to defend ourselves and to worship as we choose. We know if we say anything, we could be labeled, or lose our job, or be vilified, so be bullied into silence. What is wrong with us that we are silent with all of this?

I find it interesting when you realize that the administration seems to support every contrary position that now exists. And they are going out of their way to challenge all of the older values which Christians and many Americans have held for years. If we disagree with the government in any way, then we are labeled as potential terrorists. The administration knows exactly what they're doing. They want to see a polarization in America. None of this is an accident. This is part of their play-book from "Rules for Radicals." They want brothers to fight against each other because that's how they plan to win. It's called divide and conquer.

D.C. knows what we Christians believe and it definitely fears us if we every truly wake up and unite. It also fully understands how to use the power of intimidation against us and how to intimidate us into silence. When each of their new scandals have suddenly come to the surface, the response is duplicated each time. They express outrage, but then begin to stonewall and stall. They never really attempt any sort of fix to any of the revealed wrongdoings that have been revealed. That's contrary to their strategy.

Instead, their approach is to subpoena for the names of the whistle blowers. Then they threaten and attack any of their detractors. They know full well that such a game plan sends a strong message against dissent. They're saying: "If you are against us and what we're doing, we want to know who you are. And when find you, we will unleash the full weight and power of the government down upon your head!"

Yes, be honest. That is an extremely fearful message. We're dealing with a mafia-like administration who wants to communicate this message to all those who are fed up with what they see in the halls of power. They want us to be afraid. So those of us who don't like the direction our leaders are taking are faced with a big decision. How will be resist them? Will we shut up or will we say what we have every right to say? Will we use our constitutionally guaranteed right to free speech and speak out for the truth? Or will be cowed into silence?

Jesus The Liberator: The Resurrection and Power

If Jesus was raised from the dead, what
became of him and the power he possessed.

Between the Sunday the tomb was found to be empty and the day on which the disciples first began to proclaim Jesus was alive, there is a gap of fifty days. After the arrest, trial and crucifixion of Jesus the disciples were in shock. Even after they knew that the tomb had been reported to be empty, they still faced a major problem with their own disbelief. So let's go back to the chain of events that began immediately after the resurrection had taken place.

On the Sunday morning after the crucifixion, before the sun had come up, Mary Magdalene slowly made her way to the tomb to finish anointing Jesus' body with ointments and spices.

On arriving at the sepulchre, she discovered the stone had been removed. Peering inside, she realized the body was gone.

I know this is the right tomb, she thought to herself. So she hurried to tell Simon Peter and John.

"They have taken the Lord from the sepulchre!" she cried. "I don't know where they could have lain him."

Peter and John were startled by this news and so they decided to go to the tomb and investigate it for themselves. The sun was just starting to come up over the Mount of Olives as they sprinted toward the tomb.

As they ran, Simon began to breathe heavily. Young John, anxious to reach the tomb, kept up his steady pace and arrived at the sepulchre first. Standing in front of the opening, he could clearly see the body was gone. When Peter arrived, he ran right into the tomb and saw the grave clothes were still wrapped, as though the body had just evaporated.

Mary had been right; the body was gone. Soberly they left the tomb and sauntered back to where they were staying. (John 20:1-10).

Mary returned to the tomb by herself. Disturbed because she thought the authorities had taken the body, she stood in front of the tomb and wept. Stooping to look into the sepulchre, she saw two angels in white.

"Woman, why are you weeping?" they asked.

"Because they took away my Lord, and I don't know where they've laid him," she replied.

While she was standing there, a man came up from the garden and said, "Why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?"

Thinking he was the gardener, Mary said, "Sir, if you took him away, tell me where you laid him."

"Mary," the man said simply. Instantly she recognized it was Jesus.

"Master!" she cried, falling at his feet.

"Don't hold me," the Lord replied. "Go to the brethren and tell them I am ascending to my Father."

What a flush of excitement filled Mary's heart as she ran to tell the disciples! But even though they heard Jesus was alive, and that Mary had actually seen him, they refused to believe her. (Mark 16:9-11; John 20:11-18).

When the sun had fully risen, Joanna and Mary, the mother of James, and some other women departed for the tomb from another part of Jerusalem. When they arrived at the grave, they were surprised to find the stone had been rolled away. Entering the tomb they saw the body was gone. While they were discussing what could have happened, the two angels appeared in front of them, and they fell with their faces to the ground.
